Internationally Renowned for Excellence in Spinal Care

Dr. Chetan Patel, an internationally renowned spine surgeon, has extensive training and educational background in complex minimally invasive spine surgery which includes revision work. Dr. Patel has a passion for research that is leading the way in the treatment of spinal disorders. His current research projects help provide a better understanding for developing non-surgical treatments and minimally invasive surgical solutions that can dramatically improve upon the traditional options available.

Chetan Patel, MD

Medical Director of the Spine Health Institute

Dr. Patel is a board-certified spine surgeon, Chief of Staff at Florida Hospital Altamonte and Chairman of the North American Spine Society’s Robotics & Navigation Section. An unquestioned leader in his field, he works to bring evidence-based advancements in spine care to fruition in operating rooms and spine care centers around the world.

Tara Batz, PA-C

Tara Batz, PA-C, earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of North Carolina, graduating magna cum laude. She then received a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, now known as Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences. With a deep understanding of the complexity of spinal conditions and treatment strategies, her primary goal is to educate patients, so they can make appropriate decisions for their care. Tara will also assist Dr. Patel in the operating room on all surgical cases. She is accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is active with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants.

Kayvan Ariani, MD

Board-Certified Anesthesiologist

Dr. Ariani is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has achieved the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is also a diplomat of the American Board of Pain Medicine and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, International Spinal Injection Society and American Society of Regional Anesthesia.

Tressa Eichner

Surgical Care Coordinator

Tressa Eichner is the main point of contact for all Spine Health Institute patients who are undergoing spine surgery at Florida Hospital Altamonte.

Brian Jager, MD

Pain Management

Dr. Jager completed his fellowship at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, where he also finished his residency. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Georgia and then completed his internship at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem.

Charles Lammers, Ph.D.

Pain Psychology Management

Dr. Lammers received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Washington State University. He completed his internship at the Seattle Veterans Affairs Medical Center, followed by his residency at the Northwest Occupational Medicine Center in Portland, Oregon. He continued working in Portland for the next seven years, specializing in Health Psychology with an emphasis in pain management.

Holly Myers, MPT

Physical Therapist

Holly received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she participated in collegiate soccer all four years. She then attended Western Carolina University and obtained her Master’s in Physical Therapy.

Justin Talbott, MPT

Physical Therapist

Justin Talbott is a licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer. He has worked in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at Florida Hospital for over nine years and received the 2013 Model of Excellence award for Florida Hospital.

Andrea Molina

Exercise Physiologist, PWR Certified Instructor

Christina Discher

Christina brings years of experience in customer service care and business office operations to our practice. She previously worked in many capacities in our institute. The pain medicine department as a receptionist, a scheduling coordinator for Dr. Patel, as well as a registration representative for our physical therapy department.
